Over the past few years, many people would be waiting for Amazon’s Prime Day to get fantastic deals. For other retailers, waiting until Black Friday was the next opportunity to save.
This year, with Prime Day postponed, figuring out what you should buy (if anything) can be tricky. You can still shop and save this month over any other month on certain goods, and there are some things you should wait on to get the most bang for your buck.
Clothing retailers were among the hardest hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike previous years when we’d recommend you wait for the best deals on summer clothing, this year you can expect to find incredible bargains.
This weekend is a great time to update your wardrobe. You’ll also see back-to-school deals start towards the end of July. Expect the sales to be extra generous this year as retailers make up for lost sales and clear inventory for next season’s styles.
This weekend is also the absolute best time to buy patio furniture and grills. All major retailers begin lowering their prices on these items this time of year to get the bulky items out the door. Sales will get you extra savings to update your patio so you can entertain in style.
If you want a new laptop or tablet, hold off until the end of July. Regardless if schools are back in session or kids will be learning at home, retailers will offer the best deals on laptops and tablets at the end of the month. In some states, you’ll also be able to take advantage of tax-free back-to-school weekends to save even more.
With more retailers going out of business than ever before, you can save on things you couldn’t in previous years.
This July, hit the liquidation sales. Buy what you can while supplies last, regardless of what type of item it is. JCPenney, J.Crew, GNC, and multiple other retailers are holding liquidation sales now. Shop those closeout sales to find the very best deals.
Although you’ll see some great deals on TVs and home entertainment items over the weekend, hold off until Prime Day is announced or wait until Black Friday. If Prime Day does happen, it will likely occur in September. Prime Day usually offers great deals on 4K TVs, headphones, smart home tech and smartwatches.
While you should absolutely shop for summer apparel in July, don’t buy Fall styles just yet. If you hold off until Labor Day you’ll get steep discounts on Fall styles, but July is still too early to get the best deals.
