Seasoned shoppers know Black Friday shopping happens the day after Thanksgiving, but things are changing this year.
Because of the global pandemic and stores wanting to limit the number of shoppers coming into stores, Black Friday deals are actually starting in early November for many businesses.
And, not only will you be able to shop great sales in stores throughout the entire month, but many retailers will be offering their deals online too!
We know this all can be a bit stressful, but we’re here to help you out. As we gear up for a season of shopping, here are a few things to remember!
As we mentioned above, due to COVID-19 many stores are altering their Black Friday schedule in order to accommodate shoppers and reduce store capacity.
While this means we’ll have more time to shop, it also means every business will more than likely be on different schedules.
If there is a specific place you’re looking forward to shopping at this Black Friday, make sure to check when those deals are happening ahead of time!
Put those dates in your calendar so you don’t forget.
Criminals try to take advantage of shoppers during Black Friday shopping by creating fake coupons, so make sure you’re shopping on reputable sites.
If someone is asking you to pay them in gift cards, it’s more than likely a scam. Bottom line — if something feels too good to be true, it probably is.
We know how tempting Black Friday sales can be, but it’s important you’re aware of each store’s specific return policy before you go buy everything under the sun.
Some items may be final sale and others may have a 30-day return window, so make sure you double-check those dates in case you need to return something.
Data breaches often happen, especially during big sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
In order to protect yourself, limit the number of credit cards you use while shopping. Pick one that offers the best rewards and stick with it.
If a store sells out of a specific product, there’s a chance you may have the right to a rain check — AKA you can get the product at that price once it’s back in stock.
However, if they disclose the number of items they have available then they probably won’t offer a rain check. Make sure to double-check this before shopping!
