Welcome to the Black Friday club, Dicks Sporting Goods! The company announced on Thursday, November 12 that they will be extending their Black Friday sales for the very first time.
Like Walmart, Target, and other major retailers, Dick’s Sporting Goods is hoping this change will allow customers to avoid major crowds on Black Friday due to safety concerns around COVID-19.
Dick’s Sporting Goods has been one of the few companies to find success throughout this global pandemic, as more people have pursued outdoor activities in the past seven months or so.

Along with stretching their sales from one day to 10 days, Dick’s has also hired more staff to fulfill ship-from-store orders as well as curbside pickup orders.
Not to mention, they are also introducing mobile checkout and return stations so shoppers can avoid interacting with staff. The company has also rolled out plans to handle any lines that form in stores during these 10 days.
“We recognize the holiday shopping season is starting much earlier and will be a different experience this year for our customers,” said Lauren Hobart, President, DICK’S Sporting Goods, in a press release.
“For the first time, we are extending our deals and making it easier than ever for our customers to get the best gifts for everyone on their list with flexible pickup and fast shipping to help them alleviate unwanted stress and large crowds. We’ve doubled down on technology solutions to ensure customers get what they need quickly, safely, and hassle-free.”
Customers will be able to start shopping the 10 Days of Black Friday sale on Wednesday, November 18 through Saturday, November 28.
